Wahab Abdul, an early-thirties-old phone dealer, was shot dead at Ohwim a suburb of Kumasi, in Ashanti region, by alleged armed thieves.

The victim was attacked at 12 o’clock on September 22 by the robbers, who made off with two cellphones.

Wahab was shot twice in the stomach, according to an eyewitness statement.

“When I came out, she approached me and said that the guy has been shot. According to her, they were asking for his mobile phone and if he had money on him but he was not having any money on him so they wanted him to give them his phone, but he was struggling with them that was when we heard the gunshot and we rushed him to hospital for first aid before he was transferred to Komfo Anokye emergency unit but unfortunately, he passed away,” the eyewitness narrated.

Natives of Ohwim have raised concern over the recent surge of robbery incidents in the neighborhood.

They are requesting that security organizations increase their visibility in the area.

When you arrive, you usually find that someone has broken into your home, but not always in the manner that we heard about last night.
