The next Majority Leader of Ghana’s Parliament is expected to be Mahama Ayariga, the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central.

After President John Dramani Mahama nominated Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the current Majority Leader, as Finance Minister, the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is reorganizing its parliamentary leadership, according to sources within the party.

The position will be filled by Mahama Ayariga, a seasoned lawmaker renowned for his ability to forge consensus and his profound knowledge of legislative processes.

With multiple ministerial roles under his belt, including those of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, and Information, Ayariga is a well-known figure in Ghanaian politics.

Given the enormous majority the NDC enjoys in the House, his extensive experience in both governance and Parliament, along with his talent at debate, make him a strategic choice to lead the Majority caucus.
