The Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), which is owned by the state, has appointed Mr. Sammy Gyamfi Esq. as its acting managing director by President John Dramani Mahama.
The Presidency announced the appointment in a press release on Thursday, January 17.
The creation of the Ghana Gold Board, a major commitment stated in the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) 2024 manifesto, will be supervised by Mr. Gyamfi in his new position.
The Gold Board is anticipated to have a major impact on the government’s larger plan for economic revitalization.
Under the direction of the Minister of Finance, the Gold Board will be established.
Its goal is to maximize advantages for Ghanaians by ensuring the sustainable management and sale of Ghana’s gold resources.
Formalizing the small-scale gold mining industry and offering crucial mining industry support services will be two major areas of attention.
Mr. Sammy Gyamfi is an Economic Policy Analyst and a licensed attorney. He graduated from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Laws.
