Agotime-Ziope District Assembly is being sued by GOIL for debt

William Attiklu, Manager of the Goil Company Limited branch in Agotime Kpetoe, has filed a lawsuit against the Agotime-Ziope District for failing to pay debts owed to the gas station.

The manager of the fuel station claims that from June of 2021, the Assembly has accumulated debt to the company of GHS43,488.93 (forty-three thousand, four hundred and eighty-eight Ghana Cedis and ninety-three pesewas).

The manager of the fuel station claims that from June of 2021, the Assembly has accumulated debt to the company of GHS43,488.93 (forty-three thousand, four hundred and eighty-eight Ghana Cedis and ninety-three pesewas).

William Attiklu, the manager of the fuel station, claims in a writ of summons from the District Court, Kpetoe, that the Assembly approached him to provide fuel to approximately 17 different vehicles of the Assembly at various times so they could carry out their daily operations through the District Coordinating Director.

The lawsuit claims that he supplied fuel to the aforementioned vehicles, including their license plates.

GN-8828-18, GW-1365-Z, GR-56-21, GT-831-19, GV-837-20, GN-116-Y, GV-409-18, GV 521-14, GW-6687-10, GT-6255-11, ER-805-09, GP 3540, GX 2243-15, CR 4168, GT 4941-20, and GT 6997-8 to the tune of GHS73,488.93, of which the defendant ( (GHS30,000.00).

The complainant claims that all attempts to get his money back were ineffective, which resulted in the gasoline station’s activities being suspended for five months.

He thinks that absent a court order, the Agotime-Ziope District Assembly will never pay up its obligation to the business.

Therefore, he is requesting the following remedies from the court: (s).

i. The repayment of the outstanding debt of 43,000,488,933 Ghana Cedis and 93.3 Pesewas (GHS43,488.93).

ii. General damages for the company’s hardships, and iii. Punitive costs the court deems appropriate.
