Sammy Gyamfi, the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) National Communications Officer, voiced harsh criticism of the present administration, which is headed by President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, during an appearance on Joy News Newsfile on November 9.
Gyamfi claimed that the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration had “clearly lost control of the economy, bringing hardship to the ordinary Ghanaian,” underscoring the mounting difficulties that the populace was facing in the face of rising inflation and unstable economic conditions.
Gyamfi’s remarks are representative of the sentiment of many Ghanaians who are struggling financially.
The challenges of daily life have become a major worry due to rising unemployment rates and skyrocketing prices for necessities.
Gyamfi highlighted the value of seasoned leadership in this regard, specifically citing former President John Dramani Mahama.
“Mr. Mahama is a leader with experience and understanding of the Ghanaian economy. Ghanaians will vote for him to steer the country forward,” he stated confidently.
Mahama’s prior economic performance, which they characterize as excellent, has been a topic of discussion for the NDC.
In order to stabilize the economy and encourage growth, Mahama put in place a number of initiatives throughout his administration, such as spending on social programs and infrastructure. Such experience, according to Gyamfi, is essential for negotiating the present economic environment.
“We need someone who has been put through a lot of pressure and knows how to manage the economy effectively,” Sammy Gyamfi declared.
