Chinese lady shot by armed robbers in Caprice; suspects are being hunted by police

Li Yu Zhen, a 54-year-old Chinese businesswoman, was shot at Caprice on the Circle-Nsawam Highway by alleged armed robbers.

On Friday, December 9, 2022, at precisely 12:15 PM, the occurrence took place.

Li Yu Zhen, the victim, said that she went to deposit a sizable sum of money at the Standard Chartered Bank’s West Hills Mall branch first.

When she got back, the four alleged thieves on two motorcycles followed her to the scene at Caprice and opened fire randomly at her Prado, which had the license plate GN 8188-22.

The woman fought with the alleged thieves over the bag they demanded she hand over, and one of them shot her left hand as she battled.

Her two fingers were shot as they fled with the bag containing an unknown quantity of cash.

After receiving first assistance at the Entrance Hospital in Accra New Town, she was eventually sent for medical attention to 37 Military Hospital.

According to reports, the person is receiving medical care and is in stable condition.

Police claim to be following the group of armed robbers in the meanwhile.

“Special intelligence and operations teams have been assigned to find and arrest the suspects involved,” the police stated in a brief statement on the event. “We will surely have them arrested to face justice.”
