According to the most recent pricing shown by TotalEnergies at the gas pumps, the price of diesel has increased dramatically to GHS23.49 a litre.

The price of gasoline is GHS17.99 per litre.

The price of kerosene is GHS14.70. The revised rates are effective as of today, November 1, 2022.

President Nana Akufo-Addo stated on Sunday, October 30, 2022, that his administration is striving to bring inexpensive petroleum into the nation in order to stop the trend of gasoline price increases at the pump, which in turn affects the costs of practically every commercial activity.

“I know that the increasing cost of living is the number one concern for all of us. It is driven by fast-escalating fuel prices at the pumps, which is caused by high crude oil prices on the world market and our depreciated currency. I know that this is putting intolerable pressure on families and businesses. I know that people are being driven to make choices they should not have to make, and I know that it has led to the devaluation of capital of traders and painfully accumulated savings”, at a national address on Sunday night, he informed Ghanaians (30 October 2022).

The president stated that “the government is attempting to ensure stable and regular supplies of inexpensive petroleum products for the Ghanaian market” as one of the mitigating measures.

It is anticipated that, if effective, this system, along with a stable currency, will stop the rise in gasoline costs and provide relief for everyone.
