The Ashanti Regional Regional NSS Director, Alex Opoku Mensah, has been immediately removed from office by the National Service Scheme NSS Management.
According to a statement issued by Ambrose Entigwah Jr., Director of Corporate Affairs at the NSS headquarters, Mr. Opoku Mensah will continue to be suspended awaiting the findings of an inquiry into the regrettable events that took place at the Manhyia Hospital on November 27,2022.
The suspension was announced following a crucial discussion between NSS management and Mr. Alex Opoku Mensah on November 30,2022.
“The management’s decision, is to allow further investigation into the alleged verbal assault on a nurse on duty at the Manhyia Government Hospital in Kumasi “
A committee made up of members from the National Service Scheme, the Public Services Commission, and the Ministry of Education has been established in the interim to look into the situation and deliver a report to the NSS Management within a month.
Thus, according to the NSS announcement, Mr. Opoku Mensah is anticipated to appear before the Committee on Monday, December 5, 2022.
