Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobbey, a prominent NPP member, has criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the current economic misery in the nation.
He claims that the president’s disregard for wise counsel is the reason why Ghana’s economy is in this condition.
Dr. Wereko Brobby, who made these comments in a Neat FM interview that GhanaWeb listened to, continued by saying that Akufo-Addo and his appointees are engaging in the same activities that Akufo-Addo, when he was in opposition, had criticized the NDC administration for.
Stubbornness is to blame for the nation’s current situation.
Because the NDC’s size of government was something we as Alliance for Change used to be critical of from the start, charging that they were wasting resources by appointing so many ministers.
When my brother Akufo-Addo assumed office, he upped the 85 ministers under Mahama that we had said were too many to 125. So, is this development? he quizzes.
“When we spoke about it, he said that the number of his ministers is insignificant but what matters is their output. This means that we criticised the NDC only to come and do worse than they did. This is why we are where we are today… If you decide not to take the advice on things we have spoken about, this is what happens. Today, inflation is over 40 percent, and it will be worse,” he added.
Dr. Wereko-Brobby continued by saying that the nation’s challenges are a result of the government’s inability to stabilize the country’s currency and the cost of petroleum supplies.
