Mahama appoints Omane Boamah to Defence, Muntaka to Interior Ministry

The third group of cabinet nominees has been announced by President John Dramani Mahama.

Among the notable appointments are Kofi Iddie Adams, the Member of Parliament for the Buem Constituency in the Oti Region, who has been nominated as the Minister-Designate for Sports and Recreation; Samuel Nartey George, who will lead the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations; and Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, who has been nominated as the Minister for Defense.

The nominations were verified in a statement on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, signed by Felix Kwakye, the Acting Spokesperson for the President, subject to the Parliamentary Appointments Committee’s vetting and approval.
