In celebration of International Women’s Day this year, female MTN Ghana workers engaged in a “Lunch and Learn” event at MTN House in Accra with Professional Leadership Development Consultants Mrs. Doreen Baffoe and Madam Jennifer Agyeman.

The special speakers provided insights on the craft of narrative and communication in keeping with the celebration’s theme, DigitALL Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality by Embracing Equity and Support Systems to Succeed.

Additionally, they discussed the importance of using mentors and trainers at work to advance one’s profession.

The Chief Human Resource Officer of MTN Ghana, Mrs. Amma Benneh-Amponsah said that several initiatives have been implemented by the company to create equity, diversity, and inclusion. She said, “We have support from MTN Group to launch programs that open us up from a talent support perspective to reach other women across the MTN Group.

We have launched a program called “Women@Work”, which is system- based and allows staff to identify females across MTN Group and select them as mentors, sponsors, and coaches. The ‘Women@Work’ program complements MTN’s existing in-house “Stimulate, Transfer, Innovative and Relate” (STIR)Mentoring Program.

The STIR Mentoring program provided employees with a forum to discuss their experiences, reflecting on how it had benefited their professional and personal growth.

All employees were urged to benefit from the initiatives.

MTN workers in Ghana ended the day with a networking celebration called “Sip and Groove” that included all of their locations there.
