According to the government, no new hires would be made to its employees in 2023.
From January 2023, according to Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta’s office, hiring would cease in the nation’s civil and public sector.
He said that this is intended to reduce spending in the future.
This information was provided by the Finance Minister to the Parliament on Thursday when he delivered the 2023 Budget Statement and Economic Policy of Government.
Ofori-Atta stated that the “hiring freeze for civil and public servants” became a part of cabinet guidelines on spending restrictions during the recession.
Additionally, “no new government agencies shall be established in 2023.”
