Be vigilant, elections are won at the polling stations – Otumfuo advises politicians

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has stressed that elections are won at the polling stations and called for vigilance at the polls.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Manhyia Palace do not have a tense relationship, according to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

He claims that the visit of NDC flagbearer John Mahama will allay rumors that there is hostility between them.

When the NDC Presidential Candidate visited the Ashanti Region as part of his trip, he spoke via a linguist and stated: “The NDC is not on good terms with Manhyia.” He has said it all, so it isn’t true.

In the meantime, Mr. Mahama has denied allegations that he was involved in Monday’s attack on the Asantehene convoy in Techiman.

He described a circulating video as a conscious attempt to harm his and the NDC’s reputations, calling it a phony and artificial intelligence-generated video.

Police claim that the alleged attack happened when the Asantehene was returning from a burial in the Bono East Region’s Nkoranza.

Preliminary evidence indicates that some young people, presumably from Techiman, threw stones at the convoy’s busses.

The attack is being investigated, according to the Ghana Police Service.

Across the country, there is a great deal of anxiety over the incident that happened in the Bono East Region.

A preliminary police report states that an unidentified young person, thought to be from Techiman, threw stones at some of the convoy’s busses as the Asantehene’s convoy was making its way back to Kumasi following a burial in Nkoranza.

In an effort to obtain additional information and ease any possible tensions following the event, the police have contacted the Manhyia Palace and local Techiman stakeholders.

Therefore, as investigations continue, the police have asked the public to maintain their composure.
